This series began as an exploration of fear. How can you capture the moment a person tries to reckon with their fear? But with the very first shoot, the difference between truth and the truth a person wants you to see became apparent. Facing a fear is so much about faking it, and photography is known to never truly catch ‘the truth’. Editing, opinion, and costuming, to name a few, in some ways make me afraid. But in other ways, they present an ability to create a fantastical reality in a world that may, to some, be quite mundane.
see you soon!
